Update #29
Yo,
Sorry it has taken me some time to get around to that update that I had promised. My last 2 weeks of college were pretty flat out, but thanks to that trimester and hard work, I can now draw and use Photoshop for textures on a moderate level!
I have a 3 week break, So hopefully I can get another one or two updates done. I should be all good to keep working through the next trimester also, Just when the last 2 or so weeks come around I have almost no time to do anything.
Anyways here is the update : A preview of Kasai Sato
Before you look at the preview images, please take note of :
- This is inside of the Map Editor, not the client. So there are many things missing, such as the sky box, Cell shading and the water effect. Without the cell shade a lot of the buildings (with single colour textures) lack depth, So try to overlook that
- We have had a lot of problems with the fauna, in particular the texture for the leaves. Thus we have emitted them for now and we will generate them later on. This makes the map look very bland I know :\ but it can be added in at any point.
- There are not many buildings, and it looks like a few need to have their texture fixed. I cannot create texture maps for each building due to the engine, So I have to create a single textures which I did not do for a few buildings lol it shouldn't make too much difference, you will just see some lines appear on the texture and the edges go different colours etc.

It took me a while to prepare all the models, there were definitely some things that needed to be fixed and changed. Though it only took me a night to prepare it in the map editor.
I have created a concept of the whole map outlined, So I am going to move onto creating other main villages and sub outside villages.
As for actual engine work, There has been a lot of things implemented and a lot still to go. Though the character is ready for testing, we are working on a few small things before getting onto that.
So it looks like you guys will just be seeing the map for a while 8D

haha i wish.
That is my pride and joy, made that baby with only 3 textures !!
But it did have a lot of annoying poly use in dumb areas and it wasn't very practical at all for a village :\
I still have the file, I might throw it into the game somehow at some point, no point putting it to waste (:

Interesting. It almost seems as if everything is coming together at last. Hopefully this update will spark some activity in the forums again. I do enjoy this community, and it's good to see updates rolling on again.

They haven't decided about those kind of details since their early on i the game, but as they get close to release,they will. It most likely will be like that anyway tho.
