Re: Summons
Eddie, have you ever played oblivion at all? In oblivion you can choose some traits that you are better at early in the game, when you level up and can choose wich trait to apply gained points you get more points on the traits you are good at. And depending on the different traits that abilities need or get a boost by you choose which abilities to learn, if you want you can catch em all but you would die years before that

Re: Summons
Nope, never played it, sorry. So, there wouldn't be classes BUT, you could choose what to specialize in? Or am I wrong?

Re: Summons
yeah you'd choose to specialise in it but that doesn't stop someone who didn't specialise in it being as good and it as you are. maybe there should still be some clan restricted jutsu thoughEddiemeister wrote:Nope, never played it, sorry. But do they also have to train in it to become as good as me ?

Re: Summons
So basically, you kinda choose your own "class" by specializing and using that specific genre of jutsus/moves/whatever. So the more you use it, the better you get... But that doesn't restrict you from being able to train anything else?
Well, my suggestion is that you get to choose your primal stat to train. You'd still be able to train the others but at a much slower rate... Because if they'd all lvl at the same speed, you could master everything. And if they'd all lvl slowly, you wouldn't be able to become anything. And then besides from the main skill you want to train, you could choose a couple of secondary skills, all depending on the balance of the game and how many skills there would be.. And the rest of the skills would lvl slow. And pretty slow. But you could still train them. So that even if you choose to go with taijutsu, you could master ninjutsu to become a nice flexible ninja. But it would take alot of training. Kinda realistic.
What'cha think?

Re: Summons
VERY old topic, but maybe summons could take a percentage of your Chakra?Eddiemeister wrote:DaniEsteiro wrote:There should be a special quest with a hidden NPC somewhere, like a hermit dude who lives in a little tiny cabin in a huge forest or something. Oh and you should level up your summoning skill by summoning a lot of times. AND summoning should take HUGE amounts of chackra, as it does in the series, so only really high level chuunin or jonin should be able to USE them, getting them is the easy part.
1. People could jusit tell u where he is and you'd be done with it.
Suggestion: The hermit travels the forest quicker than anyone, but with a summon. So you can see marks where he has been. And let's say he travels for 10 minutes, then stands still for a VERY short period of time. That would make it hard as heeeeellll to get the quest/mission.
2. Meh, unfair. What about Taijutsu-users? Some classes would be bound to have higher chakra, simply to play their class. And they'd get the advantage to summon easily while other classes might have to ruin their whole character build just to summon.

Re: Summons
I think it would be better if summoning was only for ninjutsu but taijutsu got something like open the 8 gates and genjutsu got something else ( can't think of something now )
