The Green Glass Door

The Green Glass Door is a game where you try to find out the rules of the game, why one thing can go through and another cannot (that's literally the whole game, for example, Round #1's rule was that the words that could go through had repeating letters next to them). I'll keep making up different rules as people solve each one.

Round #1 Winner = Aesir Modi
Round #1 Rule = Words with repeating letters next to each other (Letter, cool, etc)

Round #2 Winner = Eddiemeister
Round #2 Rule = Silent letters in words, but he was close enough (Rhyme)

Round #3 Examples:
1.) Leslie Nielson can go through the green glass door, but Amy Winehouse cannot.
2.) Whitney Houston can go through the green glass door, but Kurt Cobain cannot.
3.) David Carradine can go through the green glass door, but Marilyn Monroe cannot.

Spoon, CoolioAlt, and Intelligent all have two of the same letters next to each other is why they can go through the green glass door. fork, Icetea, and smart don't is why they can't go through the green glass door.

Im lost.....

1.) A fork can go through the green glass door, but a spoon cannot.
2.) A pie can go through the green glass door, but an applepie cannot.
3.) An orange can go through the green glass door but a banana cannot.

My glasses can go through the glass door, but I myself, cannot..?
